I don't have access to the system that shows recalls but that car has never been in a time period with a known problem. Cars made in 2001 had a recall and 2004s made between Dec. 15, 2003 to Jan 20, 2004 had a problem with the seats. The door sticker/plate will tell you what month it was made. With that VIN I'd guess it was made in May 2002. They didn't start including the clear protective strips to go under the hardtop from the factory until about June 2002 so if you buy, make sure you get a set of the strips.

Mine VIN is 111681, so it's close to your VIN No.
Before I made my deal I listed everything I read about on this site about potential issues. Overheating, seatbelt recalls, etc. I told them I wanted everything done prior to pick up. Never had an issue since I bought the car.
Be firm with them.
Do a few searches on this site. In fact a search on "recalls" will list a lot of threads for you to go through.

I was mistaken, George and Dot (another friend of mine) are correct and tell me yours was likely built in February, 2002 thus subject to at least one recall. The seatbelt recall covered from beginning of production to late April 2002.

Also Dot wrote: "There was an emissions recall covering the t-birds built between Feb 17 and April 24 (I think that's the date I have on my site) and it's possible that his could have fallen in that time period though I suspect his was built around the 11th of February."

I can't get the build date until tomorrow at work.... but tonight if you describe your car I can tell you how many were made like it... is it a Deluxe or Premium, color body, color hardtop, and for interior color - is it std black, Black accent (wood shift knob), Partial color or full color...
