66 bird altenator upgrade

Has anyone upgraded their altenator to a higher output style? I am having trouble finding one that will put out 90amps and uses the 3 wire system that my 66 bird uses.
Thanks

there is a upgrade you can get through mustangs unlimited i believe that allows you to convert over to the GM one wire. Most mustang vendors have them.

Thanks

hoping to stay ford this car is 100% orignal but at idle the windows do not seem to be getting enough current because the windows raise very slowly with the stock alt of 40 amps. I have replaced the door window motors, rollers and switches so it seems the current reaching the windows is not enough.

originial is fine unless you actually drive then you may want to make some allowances here is a good replacement that wont bust the bank http://www.mustang-unl.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=PA1619+01
and it will put out enough juice to run that glamour without dimming and sputtering when the a/c kicks as well.
