Does anyone know where where the diagnostic plug in is?

Trying to find the dianostic plugin for a 2002 Thunderbird. If any one knows please help. Very much appreciated. thank you I'm trying to find out for my uncle.

Good question... The first place I'd look is under the dash on the left (driver) side. Do you have an AutoZone car parts place near you? They will read diagnostic error codes for free. Either have them read it or have them look up in their books the exact location.

Could it be in the power distribution box?
Facing the front of the car with hood up, on the left is the wiper refill reservoir - That black plastic box that goes around two sides of the filler for the reservoir is the power distribution box. You may want to look in there.

Other than that, I wouldn't have the foggiest idea. I have trouble opening the hood

Diagnostic plug location.

To the right of the ignition switch is a seam in the dash.Follow that seam to the bottom and feel to the left. The plug will be between the steering column and that seam. The plug is not visible, but easy to use once you locate it. (this is on a 2003. I assume to 2002 is the same.)
