Oil light came on again.

I added half a quart and it went off. I discussed this with service manager and he said the oil light is for low oil and not a pressure switch. I told him it burned a quart of oil between 3k changes and he said that was within Ford specks. Something about 800 miles and one qt. Do you believe that?

2003 with 30k miles wife driven 95% of the time.

Most manufacturers adhere to that philosophy. You need to befriend your local Lincoln or Ford service mgr. Donuts and Starbucks is a good start.
