Talking tonneau cover removal tool
To help remove the tonneau cover (boot) and avoid stressing the snaps I have made a fork shaped wedge tool from UHMW (nylon). You simply push it between the cover and the car body while lifting the cover. As it is nylon it does not mark the body nor tear the cover.
I can make this tool for the cost of material and shipping. If you are interested you can respond to this posting and we can link up via e-mail.

Geoff. I've been using just a little vaseline on the snaps, which I would rather not, so put me down for one, please.

Material cost is $9.00
Shipping cost probably about $10.00-$12.00 for North America
I figure $20.00 should cover the cost for TBird members
