12Volt wiring conversion

When I am done restoring my 55 Tbird I am going to shift over to the 12 volt system. My engine wiring harness is worthless and may find the same thing when I crawl under the dash. Would it make sense to just go ahead and replace with a 56 harness?

casco also makes a complete 12 volt conversion kit so you may want to check with them as well.
