I see more and more meeting, shows and cruises mixing in with other topics. I think we should get them all in one place. Maybe a new topic or at least one string, with just the dates and places (without a bunch of comments) Then in the listing of each event a mention could be made to refer people to a different string for replys or comments.

Very good idea but with this group, they sometimes forget what thread they're on when they reply.

Given the average age of this group, some of us are probably lucky just remembering how to get to this site.... http://www.fordthunderbirdforum.com/ubb/wink.gif

http://www.fordthunderbirdforum.com/ubb/biggrin.gif OK - now that that's settled, lets see if we can try to start filling in 57 bluebird's request & get some shows, meetings & cruise dates listed under this topic.

"The Great Georgia Thunderbird Road Rally!"
May 4-5, 2002
A scenic drive through the rolling pastures and mountains of North Georgia.
As of today, we have a list of over 60 people or 30 Thunderbird's!
We are expecting mostly 2002 Thunderbird's from the list that I have, but ALL years are welcome! We have people coming to the road rally from several States other than Georgia, as well.
For anyone interested in this event, send an e-mail to me at TbirdTim@msn.com
Our website is at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/metroatlantathunderbirdclub/

Might also be a good idea to include a link to the Yahoo! egroup if there is one.

Also, if you send me the dates and some info I will include it in the calendar on ***********data group.

For those traveling from other States to attend "The Great Georgia Thunderbird Road Rally" and for those that want to arrive near the starting point for the road rally, some people are making reservations at the Holiday Inn in the quaint town of Dahlonega, Georgia for Friday, May 3.

This could be a great gathering place for those that have a long distance to travel to join us and a way to be together the evening before the road rally. The website for this hotel is: http://www.sixcontinentshotels.com/hiexpress?_franchisee=DAHGA

I probably should add that I have an "events" page (http://www.geocities.com/***********/events02.html) and sometimes need a reminder to get it updated.

2 great Thunderbird meets
The CTCI ('55 to '57 little birds) convention June 27 to July 2 at the Parsippany Hilton, Parsippany, New Jersey

Most of the Birds coming from the North, South and West are meeting in York,Pa. on Tuesday June 25th at a local hotel. They will do some sight seeing at Harley Davidson on Wednesday morning and then in the afternoon head out in one large group to Parsippany, NJ. I don't think they would mind the Pa 02's to join in the parade out of town.
New Jersey will be a wonderful place in June for Thunderbirds

Gobird,
So far alll I have is they will meet on Tuesday June 25 at the Holiday Inn on Arsenal Rd. Wednesday morning they will tour the Harley Davidson assembly plant & museum. In the afternoon they will caravan to the Eastern Museum of racing and then to the Gettysburg National Military Park. Thursday June 27, they will caravan to New Jersey. i don't know how many will be there but they mentioned their block of rooms were filling up. They are getting a special rate for the rooms, maybe a call to the hotel can get a number. Anyway i'm sure there will be a good number of birds there

I will be going to the RT23 Auto Mall Show tomorrow Sunday 4/21. That is in New Jersey Rt 23 south bound in Butler. I had registered my '57 but the bumper is out being re-chromed, so I will be taking the '02. This is a Thunderbird and Mustang Show, I believe there will be some Datsuns there too(I'll keep the comments to myself). My Thunderbird Club (NJ Thunerbird Assoc.) will have a lot of Birds there, all years. I hope to see some NJ people from this board stop by to say hello.

Got back from the show, I had the only '02 there, except for one in the showroom. There were 2 '56s, 2 '57s, 1 '55 and several other assorted newer T Birds. Also a lot of Mustangs and "Z"s. Big Foot was there too and crushed a couple of cars. A red bird pulled in to the spectator area. I told him and another couple who had just purchased a Bird, but have not received it yet, about this site. I think I am going to make some cards with the web site address, so I can hand them out as I run into new T-Bird owners. Any ideas on putting something on this site that we could copy? Maybe some graphics on it?

Just a reminder to those people near the north Jersey area. This Saturday June 8 is the North Jersey Thunderbird Assoc. 20th annual All Thunderbird Show. We are expecting over 100 Thunderbirds. I will have my starmist blue '57 and my black '02 in the show. If you stop by make sure you say hello, ask for Pat. It will take place in Pompton Plains, NJ. Did I mention spectators are free? If you want to show you T-Bird, registration is $ 14.00. All show cars receive a plaque with a photograph of your car on it. Show time is 9am to 3pm. I will be happy to give directions if anyone needs them. The address is Pompton Valley Presbyterian Church, 60 Sunset Rd., Pompton Plains, NJ. Thats only a few miles from the Willowbrook Mall in Wayne.

Another update on the North Jersey Show. At our meeting last night we have about 70 pre-registered Thunderbirds. In years past we have always almost doubled that number on the day of the show. Of that 6 '02 Birds are pre-registered and another 6 have verbally acknowledged they are coming. THIS SHOW IS FOR ALL YEARS THUNDERBIRDS. We have pre-registered 12 '57's alone !! I hope to get a lot of pictures and post them.

Well the show went better then anyone hoped for. 121 Thunderbirds, including 10 2002s. They were, 1 red, 1 yellow, 2 NM, 1 black (mine) 5 Blues. Where were the white ones? All Thunderbirds got a participation plaque, with a photograph of their car on it. All the 2002 got a 1st place badge on their plaques. The other year groups received 1st, 2nd and 3rd place badges. The weather was perfect and everyone had a good time.
