Does anyone know what kind of corrosion protection the TBird has? Will it rust out in 5 years?

I am sure some dealerships provided some form of extra corrosion protection, but not in Texas. None of my cars even the old one have ever rusted. Keep it clean and stored in doors at night and you will probable never see any.

Seriously, the bodywork is not very metallic, is it? I thought it was some kind of compound---if it's metal, it is not magnetic!

Dealers don't know anything about rust protection on the Tbird. If the metal is non magnetic, it must be plastic or aluminum. The lower half of the rear end looks like a molded piece of plastic.
