Let me say welcome and now the fun begins. Hopefully it did not take all of your 401K.

I have been creating a database listing of the new TBirds, please see my post "Database Info for the New Birds - post here Update 1". I would appreciate any info you can supply me.

I have also created a Yahoo! group for FL owners, it is located at:

TampaBayRetroBirds (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TampaBay02Birds/?yguid=79727420), feel free to join.

Thanks! Actually, the username is for my 68 corvette, that I had restored some 3 years ago. Bought it from a guy, cheap, and traded in a little 401k money to do the restoration. Personalized plates are a result of that action. I might mention, this is my 4th Thunderbird. I orginally had a '72 T-bird as my first car, which i redid some to my liking. Later, I owned 2 of the '88 turbo coupes. Of course my collection isn't limited to just this, as I also have another corvette vert, pt cruiser. You might say I have somewhat of a kids "hotwheel" collection!

Congrads on the Blue TBird.

I have been looking in the Minnesota area for a Blue Premium TBird, but can't find one for msrp. Does anyone know of a Blue Premiun TBird with Blue Top and full blue interior accent that is available for sell at msrp?

I current have one on order at MSRP + $5K, but would like to find one without the premium $5K charge. I have a $2K deposit down, that I was told would be lost if I didn't take the car? Has anyone else lost their deposit?

I read on another thread that the premium charge of $5K was a "Stupid Tax", do others agreed with this statement?

Well, I paid a "stupid tax", then again I have had my Bird for just short of 9 wonderful months and I feel it was worth every cent. IMHO

I, too, paid a "stupid" tax. It bought me a bird as soon as I decided I wanted one. (I hadn't seen or heard of this car until late 2001.) It also bought me over four months of the most awesome driving imaginable, and I have to admit I liked the attention of being the first one most people had seen on the road. I suppose I could have shopped around longer or maybe gotten on a waiting list and waited and waited, but then I wouldn't be experiencing this car right now. To me that would just be "stupid". http://www.fordthunderbirdforum.com/ubb/smile.gif

Put me in the group that paid the "stupid taX'. I can't think of a better way to get rid of pocket change.

rd4,

Check with Don Davis Ford in Arlington, TX. I was #21 and should be getting the VIN within the next week or so. It is a triple Blue Premium and they sell at MSRP. I'm getting another from them earlier so my number should be available. Call Bruce Jones at (817) 588-5474. He is my salesman and he will treat you right.

Happy Hunting!
